Wind Farm A16

Fourteen new wind turbines have been operating along the A16 in Noord-Brabant since 2022. For this project, BT Engineering (BTE) commissioned by a partnership of four clients, fully developed, tendered and supervised the civil infrastructure during design and implementation. The project was characterized by a strict planning, diverse soil conditions and a complex stakeholder structure.

Our approach

BTE took care of the entire civil engineering part of the tender. That began with the technical development of the request, with a great deal of attention paid to:

  • Design of access roads and crane installation sites, determined by soil conditions per location
  • Uniform tender documents that, despite the divergent interests of four clients, still formed on clear request.
  • Selection of a suitable contractor, together with partners Ecovolt and Omniplan

During the implementation we guided the contractor with the further engineering and implementation including:

  • Review and validation of field tests on the crane installation sites
  • Technical consultation and optimalisation of design choices

Thanks to intensive coordination and clear technical frameworks, a well-constructible and future-proof civil design was achieved.

Why BTE

BTE combines substantive technical knowledge with process power. In this project we proved how you can stay on course in a multidisciplinary setting with multiple clients without losing technical depth. We think ahead in the design, create clear frameworks for market parties and remain involved until the work is finished.
