With the increasing complexity of integrated projects, the role of design lead is becoming ever more important. Over the past six months, Paul Quist, Jaap Joosse, Bart van Langevelde, Erik den Arend, and Sytse Alkema represented BT Engineering B.V. in the ‘Systems and Leadership Development Program’ organized by TNO-ESI and The LMS Group. In this program, we explored what the civil engineering sector can learn from the role of system architect as it is known in the high-tech industry.
In both worlds, there is a growing need for a spider in the web — someone who can connect people, technology, and project goals. We learned how to provide added value to our projects by fulfilling this role.
Last week, we successfully concluded the program with a tour at ASML. Many thanks to the other teams (ASML, Canon Production Printing, Vanderlande, Nedinsco) for their critical feedback and the inspiring exchanges!
